Location

Lake Hawkins

Activities on this spring fed lake include swimming, sailing, skiing, fishing, camping, biking and picnicking. Amenities include picnic and camping areas, a county park, a marina, and several boat ramps. Predominant fish species include largemouth bass, chain pickerel, black and white crappie and sunfish. The lake is managed by the Sabine River Authority. The lake is located 4 miles northwest of Hawkins and is accessible via U.S. 80 and FM 2869

Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary

 

A 173-acre animal sanctuary and wildlife preserve, located 14 miles south of Music Springs. It is home to over forty rescued big cats and other endangered species. HOURS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK FROM 10AM TO 5PM. THE LAST TOUR RUNS EVERY DAY AT 4PM

Downtown Mineola

 

Mineola’s historic downtown district offers outstanding antique shops, gift and craft stores, ladies fashion shops, glass art studio, candle shop, jewelry store, woodworking shop, nature shop, the historic Select Theater, coffee shops, dining establishments and more. Enjoy the best musicians every third Saturday of the month for Main Street Music on the Street. Musicians meet at the Gazebo at 10 and form circles and play. All acoustic musicians are welcome and listeners BYOC (Bring your own chair) and enjoy! Mineola is17 miles from Music Springs on Hwy 80
